(818) 245-6310Joint pain is most commonly the result of injury, or arthritis. Perhaps you were a budding athlete, or very sporty during your younger years and this has resulted in damage to your knee joint. You may even suffer from gout, which causes painful swelling and inflammation to the joints. Joint pain may also be the result of an old fracture which continues to cause pain years later with no specific trigger identified. Typically, over-the-counter anti-inflammatory medicines, such as ibuprofen, may suffice to manage mild pain. However, medical intervention may be necessary for severe, or persistent, joint pain and a medical professional may supply you with corticosteroids, or disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs).
