(818) 245-6310PRP (platelet-rich plasma) is a relatively new therapy for hair loss. Blood is drawn from a zone such as the arm and then injected into a machine which separates the various fluids of which blood is comprised. The platelet-rich plasma is then injected into the patient’s scalp, with a view to reigniting dormant or sluggish hair follicles and boosting hair thickness. Though limited research has been conducted on the effectiveness of PRP as a hair loss treatment, a number of studies support the conclusion that it can lead to hair regrowth, particularly for those suffering from androgenetic alopecia and alopecia areata. PRP for hair loss involves three treatments scheduled 4 to 6 weeks apart and ongoing maintenance treatments every 4 to 6 months, so the ability to commit to a course of treatment is essential if you wish to see (and maintain) results.
